Univ.-Prof. Dr. Yuri Albert Kyrill Kazepov, PhD

Yuri Kazepov is Professor for International Urban Sociology and Compared Welfare Systems at the Department of Sociology. He is a founding member of the Network for European Social Policy Analysis (ESPAnet) and past-president of RC21, the Research Committee on Urban and Regional Research, the most interdisciplinary Committee of the International Sociological Association. His fields of interest are urban governance, citizenship and urban quality of life, social policies in comparative perspective. He investigates the European city within multilevel governance systems as an analytical rhetorical device to understand differences in comparative terms. On these issues, he has been carrying out extensive comparative research and evaluation activities for the European Commission and many National Agencies across the world. Current projects are COHSMO (Horizon2020), SIforREF (EU InterReg Central Europe), Vienna in Transition (FWF) and BALANCE (Austrian Climate and Energy Fund).
