How can environmental and social policies be meaningfully integrated - and why does it matter how this integration unfolds?
In her newly published paper, Jana Brandl, PhD candidate at the Urban Futures Research Platform, takes a fresh look at the increasingly prominent concept of eco-social policy integration. Moving beyond static definitions, the paper develops a process-oriented analytical framework that sheds light on who integrates what, at which stages of the policy process, and across which governance levels. By critically engaging with policy integration literature from an eco-social perspective, the paper sharpens our understanding of the material and symbolic dimensions shaping integration efforts.
